dry the quake

Taking earthquakes as subject, this painting series expresses the temporality of the act of painting.

 

Just like an earthquake, which  happens very quickly but has long lasting consequences, ink painting as a fleeting movement frozen in time.

The paintings, on rice paper, were not framed but left hanging in the museum in their original, fragile state, gently swaying with the visitor's airflow.
